30 March –The National Symposium entitled “Ion Pillat-Political Activity and Poetry”

There was a recitation contest of poems by Ion Pillat. For this purpose, the children from Vintila Bratianu School No. 2 and from School Group of Ştefăneşti enrolled in the contest.

 

Participants: representatives of the Writers Union from Romania and from the Faculty of Letters from Pitesti, Dr. Roxana Sorescu, Bucharest,

 

Robert Zidaru, teacher from Ion Barbu High School in Pitesti, the journalist Paul Ioan Cruceana, dr. Carmen Bragaru.

 

20  August - Celebrations dedicated  to Ionel Brătianu

 The Symposium had two sections, respectively:

section I: conference presentation

section II: presentation of the paper “Florica–Monograph Pages”

Participants:  Apostol Stan, PhD, from Bucharest and Mr. Dinu Zamfirescu, president of the Scientific Committee of the Institute conducting Researches on the Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile, Bucharest, Mr. Bărbuceanu Dorin, Mayor of Ştefăneşti.

   

22 November –the National Symposium  “Brătianu Family in the Romanian History” 

The themes approached were wider, making reference to both the family members as well as to their deeds.     

 Participants: Dinu Zamfirescu, president of the Scientific Committee of the Institute conducting Researches on the Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile, Bucharest.

Professor Smaranda Aurică, knight of the Cultural Merit Order; Robert Zidaru, teacher at Ion Barbu High School from Pitești; Radu Oprea, superior councillor of the Cultural Department and National Heritage of Argeș County; Ioan Todea, Ph.D, Bucharest;  Maksutovici Gelcu, Ph.D Bucharest; Paul Ioan Cruceană - journalist, Bucharest;  Mircea Dumitriu, 2nd degree teacher, Bucharest.

  On 6 March 2013, at 10.00, we conducted the 2nd edition of the symposium entitled They also Belong to Bratianu Family”.  

The event was organized by Argeş County Council through Brătianu Cultural Centre. The symposium was attended by students from the Faculty of History, the Faculty of International Relations and a great number of students from Ion C. Brătianu National College from Pitești.

         The following works were presented:

- Robert Zidaru, teacher – “Pia Bratianu in the Writings of Sabina Cantacuzino”

-Ivan Iulian, candidate for a Master’s Degree – “Pia Bratianu- Biographical   Landmarks”

 

-Prodan Ruxandra, Bratianu Cultural Centre – “Family Relationships – as presented in the correspondence of Bratianu Family”

 

-Marinela Chistol,  Bratianu Cultural Centre – “They also Belong to Bratianu Family”.

The event ended with a tour of the villa.
