          Year 2013 represents an important calendar date for Brătianu Cultural Centre because it celebrates 20 years of activity.

             In accordance with the Government Decision of 28 October 1992 regarding the functioning and organization of the Ministry of Culture, the provisions of Law 10/1991 related to Public Finances as well as the Order No. 40 of 1 February 1993 issued by the Ministry of Culture, on the 5 of April 1993 the Order 518 was issued containing eight articles which define the place and role of Brătianu Cultural Centre.

           In line with article 1 of the document mentioned above, Brătianu Cultural Centre is a public institution with legal personality. The functioning expenses and the investments necessary for its operation are financed from extra-budgetary incomes and grants from the state budget. Article 2 presents the headquarters of the Centre: Florica Villa, Ştefăneşti, Argeş County. Further on, in accordance with the stipulations of Article 3: "The object of activity of Bratianu Cultural Centre is to draw up a cultural programme aimed at integrating the historic monument into the cultural circuit, raising awareness regarding the contribution of Brătianu family to the development of the Romanian spirituality, preserving, restoring and capitalizing on its heritage” . Article 4 sets a number of 8 activities, responsibilities of the institution with cultural, technical, economic, organizational character, environmental protection, safety measures for the movable and immovable assets, self-financing activities, development of different incomes and expenditure budget projects, proposal of annual programmes for activities self-financed from the state budget. Articles 5, 6, 7 and 8 refer to the organizational structure and the number of positions, the appointment of management and the measures which are the responsibility of several institutions under the Ministry of Culture for the enforcement of the Order mentioned above.

The County Council of Argeş and Bratianu Cultural Centre have drawn up a framework regulation concerning the organization and functioning of the Centre which comprises 7 chapters: General Provisions (Chapter1), Purpose and Object of Activity (Chapter 2), Assets (Chapter3), Personnel and Management (Chapter 4), Income and Expenditure Budget (Chapter 5), Responsibilities and Departments within Brătianu Cultural Centre (Chapter 6), Working Hours and Audience Programme (Chapter 7). The last part stipulates the Final Provisions from the 27 articles which form the contents of the chapters listed. Defining aspects for the activities within Brătianu Cultural Centre are found in Article 4, paragraph 1: “The Centre initiates and conducts cultural projects and programmes in the domain of lifelong education and of traditional culture”. Further on, there are listed seven activities which concern cultural projects and programmes. Among this varied range of activities we distinguish: projects useful in the domain of lifelong education, preserving and transmitting the moral​​, artistic and technical values of the community where it conducts current activities, as well as capitalizing on the cultural heritage of national and international importance. Also, we aim to preserve and cultivate the regional and local specific features, to revitalize and promote traditional occupations and crafts specific to the area where the Centre operates and support the people who practice them, thus contributing to the cultivation of the values ​​and authenticity of the folkloric contemporary creations and of the non-professional interpretative arts, for the existing genres: music, choreography, theatre and others, a development of the cultural exchanges at the county, national and international level. 


            With regard to the main tasks of the Centre, they relate to activities that aim at contributing to the scientific and artistic education of the public through specific programmes: providing support for young researchers and artists who can become famous, development and publishing of studies, publications and documentaries, concluding cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, with foundations, universities in the country and abroad in order to make the Romanian culture and civilization known​​. The Assets of the institution will be enriched by donations and acquisitions: there will be camps and art exhibitions and other cultural and artistic events.
